Rani Chopra was born in Mumbai, India. Her father, a successful businessman, moved the family to the UAE when Rani was a baby. Rani and her younger sister grew up in Dubai and experienced the awesome economic growth in Dubai during the 90’s and always knew that one day it would play a very important role in the economy of the Middle East. When Rani was 16 her family uprooted and moved back to India. At first she felt out of her element with the contrasting underdeveloped Bombay but quickly adapted and fell in love with India. Throughout her teens, Rani enjoyed the everyday life and culture of Bombay. At the age of 21 she completed her Bachelors of Commerce degree from the University of Mumbai with a distinction. She later earned a Masters of Commerce degree from the University of Mumbai. In 2007, Rani came to America and studied finance at Pace University in New York and earned an MBA in Finance. While still in graduate school, she studied for and passed the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) Level 1 and CFA Level 2 examinations on her first attempt at each.
